Toyota Considers to Exports Car in Thailand


TOYOTA, Auto Maker Considers Exports of New Version of Thailand-Made Vehicles as It Tries to Offset Yen's Rise

TOYOTA CITY, Japan—Toyota Motor Corp. may start exporting subcompact cars from Thailand for sale in other markets, a senior executive said Wednesday.
The Japanese auto maker already produces a pair of twin subcompacts in Thailand, along with a clone called the Etios in India, and is considering a new variant based on the same platform for export to other markets, said Yukitoshi Funo, a Toyota executive vice president and board member.
"We are considering exports" from Thailand, Mr. Funo said. "It will be a car similar to the Etios in size as we are trying to be aggressive in vehicles ...
